On March 31st of 2023, located in the National Museum of Fine Arts’ Friends Association, two collectives of architects gathered. From France came GRAND HUIT, composed by Clara Simay and Julia Turpin, and from Argentina, m7red. Along with architect Sabine Kastner they used an 1849 quote by French journalist Alphonse Karr as a starting point to question international design and good living condition standards: “The more things change, the more they stay the same”. At a time of climate crisis, these standards point to a certain mode of construction, one reached by more connected and collective work to develop sustainability in living habits.
